BLUR

Blur are an English rock/pop band formed in 1989 under the name of Seymour. They were one of the most significant bands of the 1990s in Britain and were the important part of the so-called Britpop movement.Blur are an English alternative rock band that formed in London in 1989. The four members of the band are: Damon Albarn (vocals), Graham Coxon (guitar), Alex James (bass guitar) and Dave Rowntree (drums)

The band have released seven studio albums plus one "best of" compilation. Their breakthrough album Parklife was released in 1994. The band's most popular hits include "Song 2", "Country House", "Girls & Boys" and "Parklife".

However, Blur are far more than Britpop and the hits you may have heard. If you include their solo projects, it's hard to come by with a musical style they haven't covered. Their music is usually an inventive mixture of different styles. Every album the band have released is unique and musically different.

Guitarist Graham Coxon left Blur in 2002 and concentrated on his solo career. The band made their last album Think Tank without him (vocalist Damon Albarn played guitars and Simon Tong was an additional guitarist on tour). After Think Tank, a few recording sessions took place without Graham, but nothing was released.

In 2007, Alex revealed that the band will soon return to the studio to see whether they still 'got it' or just call it a day. All four members (now including Graham) met later in the year, but only to "catch up with old friends".

As of October 2008, the band have been totally inactive for over three years and the possibilities of reunion seem quite thin. While other members are pretty optimistic about making the music together again, Damon has stated that he is against the idea (although he said on BBC Radio 2 in August that working with Graham may be "possible").Blur – Discography 1991 - 2003
