After recording for most of 2006, in May 2007, Maroon 5's second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, was released worldwide by A&M/Octone Records. According to Levine, the follow-up to Songs About Jane is "sexier and stronger", gaining inspiration from iconic 80s artists such as Prince, Shabba Ranks, Michael Jackson and Talking Heads. Before its release, "Makes Me Wonder" was the #1 selling single and video on iTunes. It was also the #1 selling album, with more than 50,000 digital pre-sales. After its release, the album broke iTunes sales records its week of release, selling over 101,000 albums. The first single, "Makes Me Wonder," was released to radio August 15, 2007. The making of the music video was previewed on MTV's Total Request Live, and premiered on the show March 29. The song debuted at number 84 on the Billboard Hot 100, the lowest debuting single of the group's five chart entries. In the first week of May, the single skyrocketed from a lowly position of 64 to #1, the biggest jump in Billboard history at the time. "Makes Me Wonder" has also achieved #1 on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs, Pop 100, and Hot Dance Club Play charts.

To support the album, the band performed on a "six-date club tour" in which they visited small venues in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Miami, and New York City in early June 2007. They followed with a concert that streamed live via MSN Music in mid-June. On July 10, they opened for The Police, in Miami, and followed with an acoustic performance at the Miami club, Studio A, the next day. Their 2007 It Won't Be Soon Before Long world tour began September 29 in Detroit and concluded November 10 in Las Vegas. The Hives, as the tour's special guest, performed on all of the dates while Sara Bareilles, Kevin Michael, and Phantom Planet each performed in a portion of the tour. They are currently touring with Dashboard Confessional in their world tour and, beginning March 28, 2008, they will tour with OneRepublic, Brandi Carlile, and Ry Cuming. They have also performed "Makes Me Wonder" on season 6 of American Idol and "If I Never See Your Face Again" on season 7 of American Idol. The re-release of the album features a new duet version of "If I Never See Your Face Again" with Rihanna; the new version of the song will also appear on the re-release of Rihanna's album Good Girl Gone Bad. Recently, they have released as the album's 5th and probably final single "Goodnight Goodnight" which will be reaching the radio soon.

After practicing together for a while the two decided to join forces with schoolmates Brendon and Brent and started the band. The name was taken from a song called Panic by Name Taken.

3. Meeting Pete Wentz
After recording a few demo songs the band left comments through LiveJournal to Pete Wentz's (of Fall Out Boy), linking him to their PureVolume site. He liked their music so much that he decided to drive to Vegas and presented them to FueledbyRamen Record House who signed them under Wentz's label Decaydance and helped them record their first album.

7. The Bottle Incident
On August 25, 2006 at the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival Brendan Urie was hit by a bottle and collapsed to the floor. After he got back to his feet he yelled "You can't take me out!" and "Lets see how well you guys do with my left side." I know this is not a defining moment but is shure funny and memorable.

Mumbai gunmen besiege hotels, kill 119 in 2 days

.

Indian commandoes fought early Friday to wrest control of two luxury hotels and a Jewish center from suspected Muslim militants, more than a day after a chain of attacks across Mumbai left at least 119 people dead and the city shellshocked.

Gunfire and explosions were heard throughout the day Thursday and into the night then the early morning hours from the besieged headquarters of the ultra-orthodox Jewish outreach group Chabad Lubavitch and the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels, two of the top gathering spots for the Mumbai elite. Throughout the day, commandoes brought hostages, trapped guests and corpses out of the hotels in small groups while fires erupted periodically and firefighters battled the flames.

State officials said 119 people had died and 288 were injured.

The well-planned attacks began Wednesday night and officials said the gunmen were prepared, even carrying large bags of almonds to keep up their energy during the fight. Their main targets appeared to be Americans, Britons and Jews, though most of the dead seemed to be Indians and foreign tourists caught in the random gunfire.

The gunmen _ some of whom strode casually through their targets in khakis and T-shirts _ clearly came ready for a siege.

'They have AK-47s and grenades. They have bags full of grenades and have come fully prepared,' said Maj. Gen. R.K. Hooda. Vice-Admiral J.S. Bedi, a top naval officer.

Ratan Tata, who runs the company that owns the elegant Taj Mahal, said they appeared to have scouted their targets in advance.

'They seem to know their way around the back office, the kitchen. There has been a considerable amount of detailed planning,' he told a news conference.

Throughout the day, black-clad Indian commandos moved through the two hotels room by room in a bid to free the dozens of trapped people.

The Maharashtra state home ministry said dozens of hostages had been freed from the Oberoi and dozens more were still trapped inside. More than 400 people were brought out of the Taj Mahal.

Authorities said they had killed three gunmen at the Taj and were sweeping the Oberoi in search of hostages and trapped people.

It remained unclear just how many people had been taken hostage, how many were hiding inside the hotels and how many dead still lay uncounted.

There were conflicting reports about hostages at the Jewish center. A diplomat closely monitoring the site said people were still being held there, though an Indian state official said earlier eight hostages had been released. Both sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Two large blasts were heard at the site early Friday morning.

On Thursday morning, a woman, child and an Indian cook were led out of the building by police, said one witness. The child was identified as Moshe Holtzberg, 2, the son of Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg, the main representative at Chabad house. The child was unharmed, but his clothes were soaked in blood.

Sandra Samuel, 44, the cook who pulled the boy out the building, said she saw Rabbi Holtzberg, his wife Rivka and two other unidentified guests lying on the floor, apparently 'unconscious.'

India has been shaken repeatedly by terror attacks blamed on Muslim militants in recent years, but most of those attacks have been coordinated bombings that struck random crowded places: markets, street corners, parks.

These attacks were far more sophisticated _ and more brazen.

They began at about 9:20 p.m. with the shooters spraying gunfire across the Chhatrapati Shivaji railroad station, one of the world's busiest terminals. For the next two hours, there was an attack roughly every 15 minutes _ the Jewish center, a tourist restaurant, one hotel, then another, and two attacks on hospitals. There were 10 targets in all.

Indian media showed pictures of rubber dinghies found by the city's shoreline, apparently used by the gunmen to reach the area. Both of the luxury hotels targeted overlook the Arabian Sea, which surrounds the peninsula of Mumbai.

At the Chhatrapati Shivaji railroad station, a soaring 19th century architectural monument, gunmen fired bullets through the crowded terminal, leaving the floor spattered with blood and corpses.

'They just fired randomly at people and then ran away. In seconds, people fell to the ground,' said Nasim Inam, a witness.

Analysts around the world were debating whether the gunmen could have been tied to _ or inspired by _ al-Qaida.

'It's clear that it is al-Qaida style,' but probably not carried out by the group's militants, said Rohan Gunaratna, of the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in Singapore and author of 'Inside Al-Qaida.'

'Yesterday's attack is a watershed because for the

E-Books : Jihad in Islamic History: Doctrines and Practice by Michael Bonner

.

What is jihad?
Does it mean violence, as many non-Muslims assume? Or does it mean peace, as some Muslims insist? Because jihad is closely associated with the early spread of Islam, today's debate about the origin and meaning of jihad is nothing less than a struggle over Islam itself. In Jihad in Islamic History, Michael Bonner provides the first study in English that focuses on the early history of jihad, shedding much-needed light on the most recent controversies over jihad.

To some, jihad is the essence of radical Islamist ideology, a synonym for terrorism, and even proof of Islam's innate violence. To others, jihad means a peaceful, individual, and internal spiritual striving. Bonner, however, shows that those who argue that jihad means only violence or only peace are both wrong. Jihad is a complex set of doctrines and practices that have changed over time and continue to evolve today. The Quran's messages about fighting and jihad are inseparable from its requirements of generosity and care for the poor. Jihad has often been a constructive and creative force, the key to building new Islamic societies and states. Jihad has regulated relations between Muslims and non-Muslims, in peace as well as in war. And while today's "jihadists" are in some ways following the "classical" jihad tradition, they have in other ways completely broken with it.

Written for general readers who want to understand jihad and its controversies, Jihad in Islamic History will also interest specialists because of its original arguments.

Michael Bonner is Professor of Medieval Islamic History at the University of Michigan. Jihad in Islamic History originally appeared in French as Le Jihad: origines, interprétations, combats. Bonner is also the author of Aristocratic Violence and Holy War: Studies in the Jihad and the Arab-Byzantine Frontier and Arab-Byzantine Relations in Early Islamic Times.

"This is an excellent and erudite contribution to the field that, due to Bonner's pleasant and clear style, is easily accessible to students and nonspecialists. The book's value lies in its contextualizing of the notion of jihad. It covers the entire Islamic era, tracing how the notion of jihad emerged and developed within a certain historical framework

A fine contribution to the literature on jihad...short, incisive, and highly readable book.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy
Raccoon City: a remote mountain community suddenly besieged by a rash of grisly murders encroaching upon it from the surrounding forest. Bizarre reports start to spread, describing attacks from vicious creatures, some human... some not. Victims are apparently Eaten.

At the epicenter of these deaths is a dark, secluded mansion belonging to the mysterious Umbrella Corporation. For years Umbrella has labored within the mansion, unwatched, ostensibly conducting benign genetic research.

Resident Evil: Caliban Cove
In the aftermath of their ordeal through the Umbrella Corporation's genetic research facility, the surviving members of the Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (S.T.A.R.S.) attempt to warn the world about the conspiracy to create terrifying biological weapons. But the conspiracy is far from dead, as the S.T.A.R.S. learn when they are declared outlaws by the very people who trained them. Forced to go underground, the S.T.A.R.S. resolve to battle the conspiracy on their own, determined to seek out and stop Umbrella's experiments wherever they may be.

Resident Evil: City of the Dead
Claire and Leon have one chance to save themselves: get to RPD headquarters and find some means of escape. But others have sought refuge in teh precinct as well, and not all of them are on teh same side...

For on this night, Raccoon City has become a necropolis. In a secret lab far beneath its once-bustling streets, a botched attempt by the Umbrella Corporation to retrieve a devastating mutagenic weapon has resulted in a horrifying viral outbreak, transforming every man, woman, and child in the city into one of the living dead. And all of them are hungry.

Resident Evil: Underworld
Umbrella has secrets. Beneath the deserts of the American Southwest, one of the company's most elaborate facilities is about to go online. Somewhere inside may also be the key to stopping Umbrella once and for all...if Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, and their friends can get past a strike team of corrupt S.T.A.R.S., and survive the genetically engineered horrors awaiting them below the sun-scorched Earth.

Resident Evil: Nemesis
Zombies. Mutant animals. Bioengineered weapons and surgically enhanced monsters. Secret labs and widespread conspiracies. It seemed impossible, but Kill Valentine and her teammates among the S.T.A.R.S. had seen it all firsthand when the Umbrella Corporation turned Raccoon City into a staging ground for the most insidious genetic experiments ever conceived. After all she's been through, Valentine is ready to leave that remote mountain community forever.

Resident Evil: Code: Veronica
A desperate search for her missing brother once again pits Claire Redfield against the terrifying bioweapons of the Umbrella Corporation. Her quest leads her to a remote island where a mad genius has unleashed every grotesque creature at his disposal to stop her from interfering with his horrific agenda.

Catapulted to the bottom of the world, Claire is at last reunited with the man she came to find. Chris Redfield has been fighting a one-man war of his own against Umbrella's most terrifying creations...and is now on a collision course with the man who betrayed the S.T.A.R.S. in Raccoon City. Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith.

Muslims believe in One, Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel.

The Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and derives from a word meaning 'peace'. In a religious context it means complete submission to the will of God. 'Mohammedanism' is thus a misnomer because it suggests that Muslims worship Muhammad rather than God. 'Allah' is the Arabic name for God, which is used by Arab Muslims and Christians alike.

The Quran says: God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for [your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just. (Quran, 60-8)

It is one function of Islamic law to protect the privileged status of minorities, and this is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world. History provides many examples of Muslim tolerance towards other faiths: when the caliph Omar entered Jerusalem in the year 634, Islam granted freedom of worship to all religious communities in the city.

Islamic law also permits non-Muslim minorities to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves.

The Patriarch invited him to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but he preferred to pray outside its gates, saying that if he accepted, later generations of Muslims might use his action as an excuse to turn it into a mosque. Above is the mosque built on the spot where Omar did pray.

Muslims respect and revere Jesus, and await his Second Coming. They consider him one of the greatest of God's messengers to mankind. A Muslim never refers to him simply as 'Jesus', but always adds the phrase 'upon him be peace'. The Quran confirms his virgin birth (a chapter of the Quran is entitled 'Mary'), and Mary is considered the purest woman in all creation. The Quran describes the Annunciation as follows:
'Behold!' the Angel said, 'God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near to God. He shall speak to the people from his cradle and in maturity, and shall be of the righteous.'
She said: 'O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?' He said: 'Even so; God creates what He will. When He decrees a thing, He says to it, "Be!" and it is.' (Quran, 3:42-7)

Jesus was born miraculously through the same power which had brought Adam into being without a father: Truly, the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, and then said to him, 'Be!' and he was. (Quran, 3:59)

During his prophetic mission Jesus performed many miracles. The Quran tells us that he said:
I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it and it becomes a bird by God's leave. And I heal the blind, and the lepers and I raise the dead by God's leave. (Quran, 3:49)

Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in One God, brought by earlier prophets, but to confirm and renew it. In the Quran Jesus is reported as saying that he came:

To attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden you; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey Me. (Quran, 3:5O)

What Happens in Vegas

In New York City, high-strung stockbroker Joy (Cameron Diaz) is dumped by her fiancee at his surprise birthday she threw for him in front of all their friends, and easy-going carpenter Jack (Ashton Kutcher) is fired from his job by his father. Both become emotionally distraught and travel to Las Vegas with their best friends. They meet by chance when they are given the same hotel room because of a computer error. After clearing up the misunderstanding and receiving and upgraded rooms and coupons to various clubs, they party and drink together and Joy and Jack end up getting married. The next morning, they realize it was a mistake and decide to divorce.
Before they do so, Jack uses a quarter Joy gave him in a slot machine. He hits a $3,000,000 USD jackpot and Joy reminds Jack they are married and is entitled to some of the money. The couple returns to New York, where they attempt to divorce. Their judge (Dennis Miller) declares that the couple cannot divorce until they attempt to co-exist for six months, while attending weekly sessions with a marriage counselor (Queen Latifah). If they work at the marriage but still want to divorce after six months, each will be permitted to keep half the winnings from Las Vegas. If either party does not cooperate, their fortune will be tied up in litigation by the judge. The newlyweds devise more and more cunning schemes to undermine one another such as, Jack telling Joy that their counseling session is canceled to prove she's not committed, and Joy inviting hot girls to their apartment to try to get Jack to cheat on her. They do this to keep the other's share. At Joy's job retreat, Jack and Joy ironically find themselves developing an unexpected sexual attraction to one another and they soon realize that being with each other has brought out the best in both of them.

E-Books : Learn More Study Less

ISBN no | edition 2008 | 228 pages | PDF | 6 MB

From the author
This book isn’t about reaching an arbitrary definition of intelligence. Rather, it’s about giving you a strategy for learning. From this strategy, called holistic learning, I’ll provide a set of different tools to put that theory into practice. Some of these tools won’t fit your learning style or goals. That’s fine. My hopes is to provide a large assortment of tools that, with the backing of the holistic learning strategy, you can use to tailor your own approach. With practice many of these techniques can become powerful weapons in your learning arsenal.
This book has two major goals. First, the holistic learning strategy should give you a model for how to learn better. Without an easily understandable theory of learning, it is difficult to make improvements. By seeing the holistic learning strategy you have a basis for identifying your weaknesses and improving the way you learn.

The second objective of this book is to provide a variety of learning techniques. Throughout the book I’ll explain what these techniques are and how they fit within the holistic learning strategy. Included with this book are exercise printouts so you can practice these methods. I wish you the best of luck in all your learning efforts and hope you enjoy the book. It took a great deal of effort, tweaking and experimentation to write. Hopefully that effort has been well invested and you can improve the way you think.

Greatest Hits Volume One: The Singles is the eleventh album by The Goo Goo Dolls and is a greatest hits album containing fourteen previously released tracks, including their newest, "Before It's Too Late", from the Transformers motion picture. The album also contains a newly recorded version of their first hit single, Name. The album was released on November 13, 2007.

This album marks a milestone for the band. They have been together for 21-years, and this is their first greatest hits album. The follow-up compilation, Volume Two, will be released on August 19th, 2008, consisting of rarities, B-sides, covers and a DVD of music videos and live performances.

Volume One debuted at number 33 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 33,000 copies in its first week.

The album is also an embodiment of the grown presense of Johnny Rzeznik as the dominant vocalist as every song on it is sung by him, though both he and Robby are "lead" vocalists of the band.

It was released on 11 June 2008 in Japan, 12 June 2008 in the United Kingdom and on 17 June 2008 in North America. Coldplay released four singles from the record: "Violet Hill" and "Viva la Vida" in May 2008 and "Lost!" and "Lovers in Japan" in November 2008. The Breaking Benjamin EP

. 2008-11-19
0 Comment

The Breaking Benjamin EP is Breaking Benjamin's first and only release before being signed to the Hollywood Records Label. The EP was released in and around the bands home town of Wilkes-Barre, PA, where all 2,000 copies sold out in the weeks following its release.

Release
Recorded at Saturation acres in Danville, PA, The Breaking Benjamin EP is rock group Breaking Benjamin's first, and only independent release before being signed to a record label. It was here that the band recorded and released of 2,000 copies of their self titled EP, as well as putting the their first single Polyamorous into heavy rotation at local rock station 93.7 X. All copies of such EP promptly sold out, and the band was soon signed to Hollywood Records.

Notes
The EP contains versions of songs which were re-recorded for "Breaking Benjamin's" first major label release "Saturate (album)". Some tracks contain only minor alterations to their "Saturate" counterparts, such as the chorus in "Medicate". Likewise, the vocal track for "Shallow Bay", featured on the EP, is in fact the same vocal track as heard on its "Saturate" counterpart.

Phobia

.

In the fall of 2006 the band began a tour opening for Godsmack for the IV tour, hitting up mostly eastern and Ohio Valley venues, and soon moving out west, still in support of the Phobia album. Several of the shows had been cancelled, or turned into Breaking Benjamin headliners due to scheduling conflicts. Many of the Breaking Benjamin tour dates from December 3rd have been rescheduled due to illness in the band's ranks. All dates were rescheduled as the band announced another headlining leg before going on a nationwide tour with Three Days Grace and Nickelback.

On February 11, 2007, HDNet premiered a one-hour show of the Breaking Benjamin concert in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Stabler Arena. This is also the concert that was included on the Phobia re-release DVD in April 2007, advertised as "The Homecoming". The band recently obtained their first number 1 billboard single with "Breath". Footage of the band's live Stabler Arena performance of "Breath" comprises the song's music video. On April 17, 2007, Breaking Benjamin re-released the album Phobia. The album featured a DVD with about an hour of their Stabler Arena concert footage. They completed a co-headlining tour in the United States with Three Days Grace and had Red and Puddle of Mudd as openers. The album re-entered the Billboard 100 at number 38 on May 5, 2007 with its reissue.

On June 29, 2007, the band appeared on Jay Leno and they performed "Breath". On July 6, 2007, the band performed "Breath" again on Craig Ferguson. The band did not perform as scheduled on July 9, 2007 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta due to an illness that Ben had. Two other concerts wrapping up their tour (in Myrtle Beach, SC on July 10 and Greensboro, NC on July 11) were cancelled as well. On their website, they announced that Burnley was ill and unable to perform in Atlanta and at the two remaining shows. Rumors that the band was breaking up turned out to be false, as the band announced a 36-date fall 2007 tour with Three Days Grace, Seether, Skillet (first half) and Red (second half).

The hit song "Diary of Jane" off of the album "Phobia" is a featured song on the new game Nascar 2007.

On July 11, 2007 Ben made this announcement on the band's website:
What’s up guys? Just wanted to fill you in on what’s going on. I regrettably had to postpone some shows, because I’m not feeling well and haven’t felt 100% since November when I left the Godsmack tour four days early. I’m a private person, and I would like to keep my personal health to myself but I wanted to go on the record and tell everyone that this is nothing drug or alcohol related. As a matter a fact I have been completely clean and sober for 7 months. I’m working on seeing the best doctors and exploring every avenue possible to fixing this. In the meantime I’d like to say, that I appreciate the support and understanding of all Breaking Benjamin fans. You all mean the world to me. It kills me inside to have to let my fans down. But please understand that I did not choose to get sick. I’m working tirelessly to getting to the bottom of this so I can do what God put me on this earth to do.

P.S. As of yet plans have not changed for future tours nor am I aware of any plans of Breaking Benjamin breaking up.

Thank you for your understanding. I hope that we can make it up to those that we missed on this recent tour.

Much love, Ben

We Are Not Alone

.

Breaking Benjamin released their second album, We Are Not Alone, on June 29, 2004. The album featured the lead off single "So Cold", which reached number two on the United States Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The promotional wheel was put behind the track as the band performed live on various talk shows such as "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Last Call with Carson Daly," and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The song has a lengthy history as the band had written 2 other songs before they were finally combined to become "So Cold". The first was "Inertia", then "Always", neither were released, but have been played live. The band had two music videos made for "So Cold." one of which was a promotional video made for the movie Hellboy. "So Cold" spent 37 weeks in the top 20 of the Billboard charts (as of February 3, 2005). The commercial success of "So Cold" led to We Are Not Alone debuting at number 20 on the Billboard 200 selling 48,000 copies and achieving platinum status in late 2005.

Also released as singles from the album were "Sooner or Later" and a re- recorded version of "Rain", which was featured on later pressings of the album. "Sooner or Later", had a video created for it and got a fair amount of radio play reaching number two on the Mainstream Rock Charts. The track was also featured during an episode of the tv show "Summerland" and performed live on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

The tracks "Rain," "Forget It" and "Follow" were all co-written by the guitarist and vocalist of The Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan. Breaking Benjamin and Corgan's collaboration took place for six days in December. Burnley admitted he was at first nervous to work with Corgan, but later felt comfortable and called the experience one of the highlights of his career

During a tour in support of "We Are Not Alone" Aaron Fink's father joined the band on tour, whose music collection is what originally sparked Aaron's interest in music. Gary Fincke is a professor at Susquehanna University and wrote Amp'd: A Father's Backstage Pass about his travels with the band. The track "Breakdown" was featured in a commercial for the ABC Family movie The Hollow."

The track "Forget It" was featured on an episode of the TV show "Smallville," during a scene in the movie "American Pie Presents: Band Camp," and during the end credits of "National Treasure."

The track "Firefly" is featured on the video games "WWE Wrestlemania 21", "WWE Day of Reckoning", and "WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw".

The band never travels outside of the U.S. and Canada due to Ben Burnley's fear of flying (though he said he would love to play outside the States and will go as far as a boat will take him). This is referenced in the song "Break My Fall."

In September 2004, drummer, and founding member of Breaking Benjamin, Jeremy Hummel was relieved of his duties in the band. Subsequently, on September 28, 2005, Hummel filed a federal lawsuit against the remaining members of Breaking Benjamin, as well as its management, claiming he was not paid for songs he helped write. Hummel's lawsuit asked for more than $8 million in damages. An article was released October 25, 2006 stating that Hummel does not receive any payments from the making of We Are Not Alone in which he co-authored.

Saturate

.

The band signed to Hollywood Records in 2001 after the success of an independently-released, self-titled EP, which sold all 2,000 copies that were manufactured. Hollywood Records released their full-length, major-label debut, Saturate, on August 27, 2002. The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Chart and at 136 on the Billboard Top 200.

The album's first single, "Polyamorous", received a fair amount of radio play, although it failed to reach mainstream audiences. A video was released in two different versions for Polyamorous: one that had all live-action footage, and one that had footage of the video game Run Like Hell. The song was also used for the video games WWE Day of Reckoning, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw, and WWE Wrestlemania 21. In addition the song was played during an episode of the TV show "8 Simple Rules."

The second single "Skin" was also released from Saturate, although it fared worse than "Polyamorous" and received even less airplay."Skin" was also performed live on several talk shows including "Last Call: With Carson Daly," "The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Singer Burnley has been known to state his disdain for the song during live performances and has the crowd sing the words as the band plays.

"Medicate" was also released as the third and final single, to little commercial success and airplay.

"Wish I May" the first track off of the album was played during the end credits of the horror film Wrong Turn.

At live performances, Breaking Benjamin often plays a brief sound clip of the Wicked Witch of the West prior to playing the track "Home", which has its lyrics largely influenced by The Wizard of Oz.

The band was planning on releasing a studio version of their cover of "Enjoy the Silence" along with "Lady Bug" on the European version of Saturate. However, the European version was never released. "Lady Bug" was eventually released on the "So Cold" EP.

Your Parents' House

. 2008-11-17

After you go away to school, the house you grew up in is no longer "your house." If you move back in, you're "living with your parents." They've taken over, and it'll never be the same. First of all, they've started having sex again: smelly, awkward, abundantly hairy sex--and probably on your bed. But that's only the beginning. I've pinpointed exactly when and where it becomes.. "Your Parents' House:"Š

The Bathroom
The wooden poodle with its head and paws peeking over the edge of the quaint wicker magazine rack has witnessed the first changes. Your Maxim subscription and your dad's "hidden" Playboys are gone, and in their stead? Country Living and The AARP Magazine.

The Living Room
Hey Maaaa? Where'd my DVD's go?Oh, you gave them awa--?You thought I took all the ones I like to school with m--?All you have is Under the Tuscan Sun and Sister Act Tw--?On VHS. Thanks Mom.Š

The Hall Closet
Hey at least she kept your old varsity jacket--sweet! The downside?Well shit, everyone gets a wrestling letter after four years of flopping around the JV mats, fish.Š

Aaah, the old Bedroom
Where aaaall the magic happened.. like the first time you dry-humped your girlfriend when your mom finally let you close the door on "Movie Friday." nd then you creamed your pants and she cried and had her dad come pick her up.Well that wasn't very magical at all..
Anyway, it's a good thing you cleaned out your sock drawer before Mom found that box of condoms (as if you'd make it that far, Quick Draw McGraw). Now it's just filled with tube socks and tighty-off-whiteys. And a huge bag of.. what the fuck?

shhh your father's right downstairs!

Mom is this yours? What's it doing in my

I had to hide it here. Your father came home early and almost caught me toking in the garage..

Jesus Mom, Dad said he'd cut me off if I got caught again.. I've been clean for 4 years! ..Mom did you sell my DVDs??

Shut up, he's coming!

What's going on up here, you guys. Is that

Jesse! How could you, after all we've done for you?? (I owe ya one, honey, *wink*)

Dad, I swear, this isn't what it looks like.

OUT OF MY HOUSE! DID YOU THINK I WAS JOKING? GET OUT! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE, YOUR MOTHER IS CRYING FOR CHRISSAKE!

Dad I think she's laughing

Just take your queer-ass wrestling jacket and get out. And TAKE YOUR FILTHY MAGAZINES WITH YOU!! (I'll explain later, I owe ya one, *wink*)

ME: Hey dude what time is it?
...dude! Time?

CELL: *BING!*Oh hey it's 11:58.

ME: Sorry you're a little dim, what was that?

CELL: I said it's 11:58! Leave me alone I'm tired, man!

ME: Take it easy, all I said was you're a little dim-

CELL: Well maybe I wouldn't be if SOMEONE didn't forget to plug me in last night!

ME: I already apologized for that. You know, you used to be able to go, like, three days without charging. Now you can't make it 24 hours? You've changed, dude.

CELL: *BING!*YOU'RE the one who always leaves me plugged in for more than the recommended three hours! YOU'RE the enabler!

ME: DON'T YOU PUT THIS ON ME! You hurt yourself when you ding and flash when you already have low battery-and I thought I put you on vibrate!

CELL: Yeah, well, when I'm low I do what I want!

ME: When you're low? Try all the time, drama queen! Just because you don't like to use the "F" word or the "S" word, I always have to say "duck" and "shiv."

CELL: *BING!**BUZZ*T9 COMES PREPROGRAMMED AND YOU KNOW THAT!

ME: Tip of the iceberg dude, tip of the iceberg. But listen I'm not trying to fight, I just wanna text this cute girl at midnight for her birthday. Then we'll go home and plug in, maybe kick back and pull up some boobie pics of the ex-girlfriend? How's that sound? Huh?

CELL: I'm sorry man, you're right this is all my fault. I think I can muster up another minute, it's the least I can do...*BUZZZZZ*

ME: Wait...what are you doing?

CELL: What's it look like? I'm powering down; tell the world my story! ...dick.

ME: You...mother ducking piece me shiv.

Thought the title was interesting and looked at the article and was like, "this guy must've spent more time thinking of the title of this article then he did writing it."
You're right. Good call.

Looked at the title and thought, "hey this could be good" but then looked at the author and was like "this guy is a f*cking joke" so you skipped it.
F*ck you asshole.

Looked at the title, laughed for a while, forgot what you were doing so you got up and ate some Doritos.
You're high as f*ck. Nice.

Read the whole article and found which paragraph described how you read an "and what it says about you" article and took that as a serious description of your personality.
I honestly don't know what to say.

Tried to read it but it looked like this: uoY tuobA syaS tI tahW dnA elcitrA "uoY tuobA syaS tI tahW dnA" nA daeR uoY woH"
You're dyslexic. You should probably see someone about that.

Pros and Cons of Different Egg Dishes and What Each Says About You

.

Scrambled: Pros: Delicious. Cons: Slightly boring. If you make scrambled you just aren't very creative or you are very lazy. Probably the latter. I understand. It's almost impossible to make a mistake cooking scrambled eggs. Throw a little bit of cheese in there and you've got yourself a feast.

Omelet: Pros: Delicious. Cons: Difficult to make. Nothing makes you feel better than cooking a delicious omelet, besides eating the delicious omelet. The main problem is that who the hell has all the needed delicious ingredients in their apartment? Second cooking an omelet is a very precise art that is somewhat difficult to master.

Sunny Side Up: Pros: Delicious. Cons: Sometimes runny and gross. I think runny eggs are gross.

Over Easy: Pros: Delicious. Cons: Sunny Side Up eaters think you're a bitch. They're all like, "who the hell flips a Sunny Side Up. That guy over there is a bitch." Or maybe I just had a bad experience.

Hard Boiled: Pros: Meh. Cons: Lame as hell. Seriously, can you look at a man eating Hard Boiled eggs and not call them a joke? Except on a salad. They're tight on a salad.

Poached: Pros: Don't really understand what poached is. Cons: Probably tastes bad.

Deviled: Pros: If you're around deviled eggs your probably also around much better hor'dourves. Cons: You have to sit through a boring ass wedding. Sucks to be you. The cake is stale so eat all the food you can get now. It's acceptable to pocket the food (your suit was dry-cleaned, remember? It's sterile)

Egg Salad: Pros: You can find it basically anywhere. Cons: Chicken Salad and Tuna Salad are so much better.

Barack Obama - The New Face Of American Politics (NEW) l 183 pages | PDF | 1.5 MB

Barack Obama's election to the U.S. Senate in 2004 is one of the most interesting and colorful political campaigns in recent history. His rousing keynote address at the Democratic National Convention that same year made his name a household word. The "Obama for Illinois" crusade offers important insights into American politics.

The authors explore the role of money, political party, ethnicity, religion, and the issues facing our society today. Obama's straightforward policy recommendations, message of hope and inclusion, and charismatic style propelled him to the national spotlight. Obama has the potential to shape America and to reshape U.S. politics as he campaigns for the White House. Obama's state senate career and his decision to enter the U.S. Senate race are examined in this book. Despite a primary field of six competitors, Obama received more than half of the Democratic vote, defeating a multimillionaire and the state comptroller, a well-known figure in the Democratic Party.

The general election imploded for the Republicans in the first few weeks of the campaign when it was revealed that their candidate was embroiled in a sex scandal. Alan Keyes, the ultraconservative, outspoken African American who had run for president twice and for the U.S. Senate from Maryland, was recruited to challenge Obama. But Obama, whose skill with the media and whose ability to raise funds was evident even in those early days of his career, easily won the race with 70 percent of the vote. The authors analyze Obama's ability to speak to the concerns of multiple constituencies by appealing to a coalition of voters that transcends race, class, and gender. At the start of his presidential run, Obama gives new meaning to the American dream.

Mussolini by Richard Boswordth

BENITO MUSSOLINI, (1883-1945), Fascist dictator of Italy from 1922 to 1943. He centralized all power in himself as the leader (il duce) of the Fascist party and attempted to create an Italian empire, ultimately in alliance with HITLER's Germany. The defeat of Italian arms in WORLD WAR II brought an end to his imperial dream and led to his downfall.

Mussolini was born in Predappio, near Forli, in Romagna, on July 29, 1883. His father, Alessandro, was a blacksmith, and his mother, Rosa, was a schoolteacher. Like his father, Benito became a fervent socialist. He qualified as an elementary schoolmaster in 1901. In 1902 he emigrated to Switzerland. Unable to find a permanent job there and arrested for vagrancy, he was expelled and returned to Italy to do his military service. After further trouble with the police, he joined the staff of a newspaper in the Austrian town of Trento in 1908.

His early enthusiasm for Karl Marx was modified by a mixture of ideas from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, the revolutionary doctrines of Auguste Blanqui, and the syndicalism of Georges Sorel. In 1910, Mussolini became secretary of the local Socialist party at Forli.
When World War I broke out in 1914, Mussolini agreed with the other Socialists that Italy should not join it. Only a class war was acceptable to him, and he threatened to lead a proletarian revolution if the government decided to fight. But several months later he unexpectedly changed his position on the war, leaving the Socialist party and his editorial chair.

In November 1914 he founded a new paper, Il Popolo d'Italia, and the prowar group Fasci d'Azione Rivoluzionaria. He evidently hoped the war might lead to a collapse of society that would bring him to power.

Fascism became an organized political movement in March 1919 when Mussolini founded the Fasci de Combattimento. After failing in the 1919 elections, Mussolini at last entered parliament in 1921 as a right-wing member. The Fascisti formed armed squads to terrorize Mussolini's former Socialist colleagues.

In return for the support of a group of industrialists and agrarians, Mussolini gave his approval to strikebreaking, and he abandoned revolutionary agitation.

In 1925-1926 he was able to assume dictatorial powers and dissolve all other political parties.
Under the dictatorship the parliamentary system was virtually abolished. The law codes were rewritten. All teachers in schools and universities had to swear an oath to defend the Fascist regime.

Richard Boswordth allow us to come closer than ever before to an appreciation of the one of the tyrant-killer who so scarred interwar Europe.

With extraordinary skill and vividness, drawing on a huge range of sources, this biography points a picture of brutality and failure, yet one tempered with an understanding of Mussolini as a human being, not so different from many of his contemporaries.

Barack Obama | English | 2008 | PDF | 6.5 MB

Meet the REAL President Barack Obama
Front man for the ELITE and NEW WORLD ORDER

There are two books in this torrent, both by Webster Tarpley:

Book #1 - Barack Obama: Unauthorized Biography
Product Description from Amazon.com
Written by the author of the legendary 1992 expose of Bush the elder, this book works from a New Deal point of view.
Obama is exposed as a foundation operative and agent of Wall Street finance capital, controlled by Zbigniew Brzezinski, George Soros, and Goldman Sachs. Obama's mother was an official of the Ford Foundation, the World Bank, and US AID. By all indications, Obama was identified for future political use by Brzezinski at Columbia in 1981-1983, during Obama's secret lost years. Obama has worked for the Gamaliel Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, the Woods Fund, and the Annenberg Foundation as a community organizer - a poverty pimp, a cynical opportunist who uses suffering people as a political commodity. The foundation strategy is divide and conquer, pitting blacks against whites against Hispanics against Asians, to prevent any challenge to Wall Street. Racist provocateurs like Wright and Pfleger, along with Weatherman terrorist bombers Ayers and Dohrn, Obama's best friends, are cast in this mold. Rezko, Auchi, and Al-Sammarae represent the cesspool of Chicago graft and corruption in which Obama cavorts. Schooled in Nietzsche and Fanon, Obama qualifies as a postmodern fascist. An Obama administration would strive for brutal economic sacrifice and austerity to finance Wall Street bailouts, and for imperialist confrontation with Russia and China.

Book # 2 - Barack Obama: The Post Modern Coup - Making of a Manchurian Candidate
Product Description from Amazon.com
Barack Obama is a deeply troubled personality, the megalomaniac front man for a postmodern coup by the intelligence agencies, using fake polls, mobs of swarming adolescents, super-rich contributors, and orchestrated media hysteria to short-circuit normal politics and seize power. Obama comes from the orbit of the Ford Foundation, and has never won public office in a contested election. His guru and controller is Zbigniew Brzezinski, the deranged revanchist and Russia-hater who dominated the catastrophic Carter presidency 30 years ago. All indications are that Brzezinski recruited Obama at Columbia University a quarter century ago. Trilateral Commission co-founder Brzezinski wants a global showdown with Russia and China far more dangerous for the United States than the Bush-Cheney Iraq adventure. Obama's economics are pure Skull & Bones/Chicago school austerity and sacrifice for American working families, all designed to bail out the bankrupt Wall Street elitist financiers who own Obama. Obama's lemming legions and Kool-Aid cult candidacy hearken back to Italy in 1919-1922, and raise the question of postmodern fascism in the United States today. Obama is a recipe for a world tragedy. No American voter can afford to ignore the lessons contained in this book.

These books deal with this to a certain extent, but I'll also put this out there - Obama is a CIA asset at the minimum, and quite possibly an agent.

---Obama's mother was a CIA officer/asset (Worked for two known CIA fronts, The Ford Foundation and USAID)
---Obama was one of 8 students selected to study sovietology in Columbia's IR program under Brzezinski, one of the CIA's top-ranking officers.
---Obama went to work for a known CIA front, Business International Corporation (one of whose specialties was recruiting leaders of domestic left-wing organizations as CIA assets).
---Obama ran for state office and his opponent quit the race before the election. Obama ran for US Senate, and his opponent quit the race before the election.
---Obama ran for Pres., and his foreign policy chief was, who else, one of the CIA's top officers, Brzezinski...

Does Obama have CIA ties.... Oh, I don't know ! :o

Let's also not forget that no one in the mainstream knows much of anything about Barack Obama -

His college records and transcripts from Occidental College... sealed, not released.
His college records and transcripts from Harvard... sealed, not released.
His college records and transcripts from Columbia... sealed, not released
His former Client List at the Law Firm he worked for... sealed, not released.
His official birth certificate... sealed by the Governor of Hawaii, not released.
